Admission To The Ward (Hospital)

  • Please ensure that all valuable items are left at home. However the reception has a safe to keep your valuables.

  • Please bring along you I.D. card or passport and medical aid card.

  • Patients under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by one of the parents or legal guardians, in order to sign consent for operations, indemnity, etc.

  • The nursing staff will show you how to operate the radio, lights, nurse care system, television, air conditioner and telephone. Flex-pa cards are available at the reception for your private calls.

  • Please report any defects in your room to the sister in charge.

Discharge From Hospital

You may be discharged by your doctor only after he has seen you or given telephonic instructions to the sister in charge. Please sign your Discharge Form once you have received you mediction to take home and hand in your yellow discharge slip at Reception when leaving the hospital.

If you had anaethesia on the day discharge, please make arrangements for someone to fetch you.

Private Patients

A. ADMISSION

A deposit covering the estimated cost of the procedure/service/operation is required on admission. Should your account exceed this amount, you may be required to make a further interim payment.

B. DISCHARGE

You will be provided with a final account before you leave the hospital. Please allow approximately 120 minutes for the administration department to complete your account. If your account is less than the deposit you will be refunded. Refunds will only be processed during normal office hours as follows:

Cheque payments - requires 7 working days for bank clearance.

Credit cards - 3 working days.

Cash Payments - 120 minutes after

Medical Aid Patients

A. ADMISSION

You will need to provide us with your Medical Aid card and Identity card on admission. 

It is the patients' responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available for the stay in the hospital.

Patients need to provide the pre-authrization number on admission.

B. DISCHARGE

The hospital is contracted in to all Medical Aid Funds in Namibia and claims directly from the medical aids.
